Heart Shaped Wreckage

Riley hated this. She hated having to sneak Garrett in to her dressing room just to be able to see him. She was currently playing the lead role, Ella, in a production of a newly reworked version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway, in the aptly titled Broadway Theatre. She snuck him in during various shows at intermission, so that she would have time to spend with him, and then change her costume, and finish the show.

Garrett wasnt that thrilled at being so sneaky , but he was willing to do anything and everything for Riley. She meant the world to him, but her brothers just didnt like him and he knew that they didnt trust him. Garrett never understood why they didnt trust him because he was nothing like his father, but he wasnt pushing Riley into anything either. He just wanted her to be happy.

As the end of the reprise of Ten Minutes Ago faded away, the stage darkened, and the curtain closed on act one, the show's star rushed off to her dressing room. Riley's co-star, and fellow Tony nominee Santino Fontana couldn't help but smile when he saw her. "Tell Garrett I said hello!" he grinned, seeing nothing more than the fabric of her white ball gown rush past him.

Garrett sat in her dressing room and waited on her. He couldnt wait to she is beauty queen again. He paced the floor.

Jeff and Matt were in the crowd and couldnt believe how their little was doing. They were so proud of her.

She sang softly, letting him know she was at the door.

He smiled opening the door for her "There you are." He said pulling her close to him holding tightly against him "Did you have a good show?"

She giggled softly, hugging him tight. "This is only intermission, Garre, I still have the second act to do."

"Why cant it be over soon? I do like to spend alot more time with you dear."

[Riley Hardy]

"It will be, it will be," said Riley gently. "Just one more act, and a few minutes signing things at the door for the fans."

He nodded "So are you sure that your brothers didnt come to the show tonight?" he asked looking down at her

Jeff and Matt were trying to get into the back to see her before she went back on but sercuity stopped them

[Riley Hardy]

"I didn't see them, but security knows not to let them back here without telling me, especially if you're here."

[Ryleigh Dewan-Orton]

He nodded "I dont want them or me ruining your night." he said kissing the top of her head

"Sorry sirs we cant let you back here." he said

"But we are her brothers damn it. We have a right to see her!" Jeff snapped

[Riley Hardy]

She caught her brothers voices through the echo of the backstage area. "Dammit...hide in the extra closet while I go take care of this, okay?"

[Ryleigh Dewan-Orton]

He nodded kissing her before getting into the closet.

Jeff looked at Matt "Why in the hell are you so claim about this Matthew?"

[Riley Hardy]

She kissed him back, and hurried off. "Is there a problem?" she asked.

[Ryleigh Dewan-Orton]

"Yeah. Your stupid body guard or whatever he is wouldnt allow me and Matt back here to see you." Jeff said

"We just wanted to see you before you went back on little sis." Matt said "And also to ask if you wanted to grab a bite after the show?"

[Riley Hardy]

"I'd love to, but I have a double show day tomorrow," said Riley. "I'm probably going to sign a few playbills for the fans, and go home for the night, rest my voice."

[Ryleigh Dewan-Orton]

"We understand don't we Jeffrey." Matt said

Jeff shrugged "I guess."

[Riley Hardy]

"I've got to give every crowd the best Ella I can, Jeff," said Riley.

[Ryleigh Dewan-Orton]

"Yeah I get that, but you hardly see us anymore. When was the last time you called your father Riley? Or seen your niece? Matt and I had to come all the way here just make sure that you were alright." He said

[Riley Hardy]

Riley sighed softly. "I called him this morning, Jeff, and I was planning on coming home net week when they let the understudies play Ella, so they can start deciding who will take my place if I don't resign for another year with the show."

[Ryleigh Dewan-Orton]

"I bet. I'm going back to my seat." he said walking off

"Dont pay him any mind sis. He is just having a rough time right now."

[Riley Hardy]

She sighed softly. "I hate that he's upset with me, Matt..."

[Ryleigh Dewan-Orton]

"I know, but you know he is going to get over this. He just going to throw a fit like he always does, but he will get okay again."

[Riley Hardy]

"I know, I know, but, it hurts sometimes. I've been nominated for a Tony award two years in a row, but I feel like rather than be happy for me, rather than be proud of me, he's upset with me."
